About bambooless dhoop sticks

A dhoop stick is solid fragrance: the whole stick is made of the aromatic paste, with no bamboo core inside. Because every part of it is fragrance, a single dhoop stick fills a room more quickly and more densely than an agarbatti of the same length.

Our Premium Dhoop collection holds the two flowers Indian homes reach for most at the altar, rose and mogra. They are made without charcoal, so the smoke is softer, and each stick burns for about an hour — long enough for a full morning or evening pooja.

Choosing between rose and mogra dhoop

For an evening prayer or a calm room
Rose dhoop is the warmer and rounder of the two, with an amber base that lingers after the stick has finished.
For a fresh, temple-flower fragrance
Mogra dhoop smells like a fresh string of jasmine flowers at the altar; lighter and brighter than rose.
Trying dhoop for the first time
Start with the Trial pack. The Signature and Temple packs cost less per stick once you know which fragrance you like.
Using it in a small flat
One stick is usually enough for a room. Light it near a window that is slightly open and let it burn out on its own.

What is the difference between dhoop and agarbatti?

An agarbatti is fragrance paste rolled onto a thin bamboo stick; a dhoop stick has no bamboo and is made entirely of the paste. Dhoop gives a denser fragrance in a shorter time, while an agarbatti gives a lighter fragrance for longer.

Do bambooless dhoop sticks need a special holder?

No. Any dhoop stand, a small plate of sand or rice, or the base of a diya will hold one upright. Keep it on a heat-safe surface because the glowing end burns down to the base.
